What Is Joint Therapy?
Joint therapy uses targeted injections to reduce pain and inflammation within a joint while supporting repair of the tissue around it. Two approaches are commonly used: hyaluronic acid, which restores lubrication and cushioning where the natural joint fluid has thinned, and platelet rich plasma, which delivers growth factors from your own blood to encourage repair.

- Aftercare: Expect some ache or a feeling of fullness in the joint for a day or two. You will be advised to rest the joint briefly, then follow a graded return to activity.
Hyaluronic acid injections often bring relief within a few weeks, while PRP works more gradually as tissue repairs, with benefit typically building over two to three months. Courses vary by joint and approach, and results are consistently better when combined with appropriate strengthening work or physiotherapy.

Is the injection painful?
Local anaesthetic is used, so discomfort is brief. You may feel pressure or a sensation of fullness as the joint fills. Larger joints such as the knee are generally very well tolerated.
What is the downtime after treatment?
Little in practical terms. The joint may ache or feel full for one to three days. Avoid high-impact activity for a couple of days, then build back up gradually as advised.
How many injections will I need?
This depends on the joint and the approach. Hyaluronic acid may be a single injection or a short series, while PRP is commonly given as two or three sessions a few weeks apart.
How long does the relief last?
It varies between individuals. Many people gain six to twelve months of meaningful relief, and treatment can usually be repeated. Response depends largely on how much degeneration is already present.
Will this cure my arthritis?
