Laser Hair Removal Treatment

Laser Hair Removal: Target. Reduce. Reveal.

From £55

Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to target hair follicles at the root, disrupting future growth while leaving surrounding skin undisturbed. It’s suitable for most areas of the face and body and can be tailored to different skin and hair types.

A course of sessions treats hair across all growth cycles, with most clients seeing a significant, lasting reduction in regrowth and smoother skin between sessions.

What Is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal works by directing a concentrated beam of light at the hair follicle. The pigment in the hair absorbs that light and converts it to heat, and the heat damages the follicle so it can no longer produce hair. Because the light is drawn specifically to pigment, the surrounding skin is left largely unaffected.

Hair grows in cycles and only follicles in the active growth phase can be treated, which is why a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart is always needed. At MedSkin Studios your skin and hair type are assessed and a patch test is carried out before your first full treatment, so the settings can be matched safely to you.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

A course of six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is typical for body areas, while facial hair often needs more because it is more hormonally driven. Occasional maintenance sessions keep the results stable in the long term.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most clients describe a brief warm snap, rather like an elastic band flicked against the skin. Integrated cooling makes it very manageable, and numbing cream can be used on sensitive areas.

There is none in practical terms. Redness and small raised bumps around each follicle are normal for a few hours. You should avoid heat, saunas, swimming and sun exposure for forty-eight hours.

Typically six to eight sessions four to six weeks apart for the body. Facial and hormonally-driven hair often needs more, and occasional maintenance afterwards is normal.

Not reliably, no. The laser targets pigment, so it works best on dark hair. Blonde, red, grey and very fine white hairs contain too little pigment to respond well.

You can and should shave between sessions — in fact the area must be shaved before each appointment. Waxing, plucking, threading and epilating must be avoided, because they remove the follicle the laser needs to target.
